Johnson School Bus Website Facebook
Aaron W. Johnson founded Johnson School Bus Service in August 1942 when he converted a milk truck and two logging trucks into West Bend's first school buses. Today Johnson Bus has 11 terminal locations serving 14 school districts in southeastern Wisconsin. A total of 500 part-time and 50 full-time employees operate and maintain a fleet of 500 vehicles.
Now, in its third generation of family leadership, Johnson Bus is one of the largest family owned and operated school bus companies in Wisconsin. The goal of Johnson Bus is to provide the safest, most efficient service possible. The key to their longevity and success is in forming a partnership with the schools and parents they serve, providing expert assistance to help them make the difficult decisions that face educational systems. This is accomplished by providing trained, responsive staff, well-maintained equipment, the newest technology, and underscoring the Johnson Bus belief in the motto that “Safety Is No Accident.”
Albrecht Free Clinic of Washington County Website Facebook Blog
Albrecht Free Clinic, “A Place to Come and Get Healthy”
The Albrecht Free Clinic was named after its founder, Dr. James E. Albrecht, a local physician from Jackson, nicknamed “Doc”. "Doc" practiced medicine in Washington County throughout his entire career. Following retirement, Doc realized a life-long dream and founded the clinic in 1996 to ensure continuation of health care for Washington County residents.
Many professional volunteers join a small staff of paid medical employees in providing care for those in need of assistance. A volunteer Board of Directors oversees the operations. Albrecht Free Clinic functions solely on grants, foundations, clubs/organizations, churches, community groups, health care providers and individual donations. They receive no government funding.
The Albrecht Free Clinic is an independent operation that does not duplicate the services of any other county agencies, nor does it administer TB testing, flu shots, school physicals or immunizations.
The Albrecht Free Clinic provides free medical care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Washington County, Wisconsin. Approximately, 60% of their patients are chronically ill while the other 40% visited them for acute care issues. Anyone in the clinic service area with insufficient funds to follow traditional healthcare channels or does not possess health insurance coverage is encouraged to seek quality medical treatment at the licensed Albrecht Free Clinic.
In 2015, they provided care to 625 individuals with approximately 1270 clinical visits.
In the past twelve months, over 130 individuals have donated their time and effort to make this free clinic a reality. Albrecht’s healthcare providers, nurses, and volunteers donate their time and expertise in order to successfully improve the quality of life and health for their patients. Without their commitment and the gracious generosity from supporting community partners, Washington County residents may not have anywhere else to go to receive adequate healthcare.
Albrecht Free Clinic provides two walk in clinics a week. Dental services began on March 1st and appointments can be made for those with chronic medical conditions and dental care needs.
