Traffic Safety Commission


PURPOSEThe Traffic Safety Commission shall investigate, advise, and report to the mayor, the Common Council and any other city official concerning the best methods of providing for traffic safety and for the orderly flow of traffic throughout the City.  In making such recommendations, the Commission shall make recommendations consistent with the Wisconsin Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devices. 

POWERS AND DUTIES:  The Traffic Safety Commission shall have the powers and duties prescribed in Municipal Code 1.52. 

STRUCTURE:  The Traffic Safety Commission shall consist of seven (7) members, including the Chief of Police, one (1) alderman and five (5) citizen members.

TERMS:  Both the alderperson and citizen members shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to confirmation by the Common Council.  The alderperson shall serve a one (1) year term.  The citizen members shall serve two (2) year terms.
