Street Light Replacements on South Main Street
West Bend, Wis. (September 21, 2018) – The Department of Public Works has contracted with Outdoor Lighting Inc. for the replacement of several city owned street light poles on South Main Street between Walnut Street and Popular Street. The work consists of replacing three (3) existing concrete light poles with new wood poles equipped with LED fixtures. The contractor will also be upgrading one (1) existing wood pole with a new LED fixture.
A Public Works crew will be working in the project area prior to the lighting contractor removing the street light poles. Crews will be removing concrete around the existing poles and replacing underground utility wires as part of this replacement project.
Weather permitting, work is expected to take ten (10) days to complete and will begin sometime after September 24th, 2018.
Parking on South Main Street between Walnut Street and Popular Street will be intermittently restricted throughout the duration of the project. Motorists are asked to exercise caution, observe construction signs, obey flagmen, and be alert for heavy construction equipment, while work is in progress. Alternate routes should be selected if possible.
