WEST BEND, Wis. – The City of West Bend has partnered with the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) to host their annual Veterans Tribute on Monday, November 5, 2018. Mayor Kraig Sadownikow and the West Bend Common Council will be honoring all veterans with special emphasis on the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI. The Museum of Wisconsin Art will be opening their doors at 5:00 p.m. with the ceremony taking place at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy the museum before and after the event, admission is free.
During the ceremony Mayor Sadownikow will issue a proclamation giving thanks to those who risked their lives to serve our country. Guest speakers include Thomas Tradewell, former VFW National Commander in Chief and Scott Mindel, West Bend East Social Studies teacher. Mr. Mindel will speak regarding the impact of WWI on Wisconsin as well as the lasting historical impact on the U.S. and the World.
All veterans, family, friends and community members are welcome to attend. If you are a veteran and need transportation or assistance with special needs, please contact the Mayor’s office at 262-335-5123 before the event to arrange transportation.
