The City of West Bend Water Utility has an opening for a part time employee (up to 10 hours/week the first two weeks of every month) to read water meters year ‘round. The successful applicant will have flexible daytime hours, supplied uniforms, and a salary of approximately $15.39/hr. Must be 18 years of age or older, have reliable transportation, good driving record, ability to access meters in all conditions (dogs, weather, terrain), have good customer skills and be accurate. The City of West Bend is accepting applications for a full-time Sewer Operations Specialist. Experienced Wastewater Operators are encouraged to apply. Under limited supervision, will be responsible for work of routine difficulty in the operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, collection system and lift stations. Have the ability to obtain or currently have wastewater certification in the following sub-classes: A1, A2, B, C, P, D and L within four years. Two years minimum Wastewater Treatment Plant background required or equivalent experience. Cityworks, computer and mechanical background desired. CDL class B/C with endorsement, N tanker and air brakes is required within three months of hire. Must complete a training program and demonstrate proficiency. Salary range $19.95 to $24.99 DOQ. Immediate promotion possible with desired experience and licenses. A pre-employment drug screening, physical, vision, hearing and spirometry tests are required to be eligible for hire. The City of West Bend is taking applications for a full-time Economic Development Manager. This position performs professional economic development activities for the city in order to promote business development, job creation and retention in the City of West Bend. Duties include: coordinating activities relating to economic development; provide support to Redevelopment Authority; implement and maintain workforce development strategies to address both short and long term needs of key stakeholders; providing information and assistance to community organizations; serves as the Downtown Business Improvement District Executive Director; identifying industry clusters for business development and targeted marketing; manage social media tools; update city website; select and award Business of the Month and Business of the Year awards; write press releases; complete and sustain aggressive business retention meetings with employers; assist with business attraction, marketing, incentive preparation and management of three loan funds; assist with Tax Incremental District administration; research, prepare, submit, administer and follow grant opportunities and reporting requirements in consultation with the city administrator and track and submit appropriate reports to state, federal or other agencies as required.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economic Development, Marketing or related field and three years general economic development experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The starting salary is $45,500 - $47,800 (DOQ), with benefits. Applications will be accepted until the needs of the department are met. The City of West Bend is accepting applications for a Social Media Specialist, approximately 20 hrs/wk. This position works under the direct supervision of Community TV. Duties include an assessment and recommendation of social media platforms, administering of all social media, establishing and maintaining a social media calendar, tracking media coverage or PR metrics (e.g. web analytics), creating ways to streamline communication and plan execution, and general administrative and clerical duties. High School diploma or GED required. Experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Hootsuite. Have basic understanding of keyword strategies in headlines and content, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, knowledge of ad placement and advertising, creativity in planning and execution of social media platforms. Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and be able to pass a background check and drug screening. This position is eligible for prorated benefits including vacation and holiday.
