  • The West Bend Community Memorial Library has an open position for a Custodian.

    Essential Functions of the Position

    • Cleaning of restrooms, meeting rooms, study rooms, shelves, tables, computer equipment, and glass around the library
    • Emptying garbage cans and recycle bins
    • Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of library floors
    • Dusting of library furniture
    • Salting during winter months as needed
    • Set up of tables and chairs before and after events
    • All other duties as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications Required

    • High School Diploma
    • Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies
    • Basic knowledge of proper cleaning techniques
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Dedication to customer service
    • Enthusiasm and flexibility a plus
    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
    • Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis


    Environmental Adaptability

    Work is generally performed in the library before and during normal business hours with some work performed outside on library property.

  • The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position.  Instructors must be 16 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of swimming fundamentals, ability to lead groups of children, and have a high level of responsibility.  Applicants must also be available on Saturday’s from 8:45am to 12:15pm January 5th – February 23rd and/or March 9th – May 11th. Pay is $9.00/hour.

    Applications are being accepted for a full time Public Works Technician I.  Must be able to deal courteously with the public, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, have physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, work flexible hours, and available to work overtime as dictated.  Positive communications skills, team and goal orientated, and possess a willingness to accept job assignments needed. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and/or the ability to obtain a Class B CDL (Class A preferred) and good driving record.  Mechanical, Concrete, Asphalt, Snowplowing, and Storm Sewer experience desirable.  Welding and fabricating experience a plus.  Must be available for snowplowing 24 hrs. a day when required.  Candidates will need to pass a background check, physical and drug screening.     The City of West Bend is accepting applications for a full-time Sewer Operations Specialist.  Experienced Wastewater Operators are encouraged to apply.  Under limited supervision, will be responsible for work of routine difficulty in the operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, collection system and lift stations.  Have the ability to obtain or currently have wastewater certification in the following sub-classes:  A1, A2, B, C, P, D and L within four years.  Two years minimum Wastewater Treatment Plant background required or equivalent experience.  Cityworks, computer and mechanical background desired.  CDL class B/C with endorsement, N tanker and air brakes is required within three months of hire.  Must complete a training program and demonstrate proficiency.  Salary range $18.50 to $24.99 DOQ.  Immediate promotion possible with desired experience and licenses.  A pre-employment drug screening, physical, vision, hearing and spirometry tests are required to be eligible for hire.  Open until filled.
