  • POLICE OFFICER


    The City of West Bend is accepting applications for immediate openings and to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. Candidates must be at least 20 years of age, possess or be able to obtain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, have excellent character, a two-year degree or 60 college credits, completion of the State of Wisconsin Basic Law Enforcement Course, and must be able to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer. Candidates who are presently enrolled in college-level courses that will give them a total of 60 college credits or are enrolled in the State of Wisconsin Basic Law Enforcement Course are eligible to apply. Candidates must successfully complete their 60 college credits and certification classes before being hired. The Police Department will reimburse Recruit Academy expenses for those hired, if currently enrolled in a Police Recruit Academy or scheduled to attend a 2019 course. Salary range for 2019 is $58,471 - $71,109 and based on the current contract. An increase in starting salary and vacation time is available to current full-time law enforcement officers who have completed their probationary period at their agency. Bilingual candidates are especially encouraged to apply.

    Eligible candidates will take a written test and a physical agility test on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Additional selection criteria will include scenario exercises, oral interview, background check, psychological and medical exams, and a drug screen.

    Youth Baseball Instructor

    The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position. Instructors must be 16 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of baseball, ability to lead large groups of children, and have a high level of responsibility. Applicants must also be available on Thursdays from 5:15pm to 7:30pm April 18 – May 16. Pay is $8/hour.


    Youth Soccer Instructor


    The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position. Instructors must be 15 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of soccer, ability to lead large groups of children, and have a high level of responsibility. Applicants must also be available on Tuesdays from 5:15pm to 7pm April 16 – May 14. Pay is $8/hour.

    Summer Recreation Employment Opportunities


    Regner Park Beach Lifeguard
    The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position. Lifeguards are hired to work at the City’s Regner Park Beach. Applicants must be 16 years old or older and possess a current Lifeguard Certification including CPR/AED/First Aid. American Red Cross, or YMCA certifications are acceptable. Applicants must be available on a regular basis June 7 – August 18, including evenings and weekends. Beach operation hours are 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily. Starting pay is $9.50/hour.


    Regner Park Beach House Attendant
    The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position. Beach House Attendants are hired to work at the City’s Regner Park Beach. Applicants must be 15 years old or older and possess proficient knowledge and skills of money handling, customer service, and have a high level of responsibility. Applicants must also be available on a regular basis June 7 – August 18, including evenings and weekends. Beach operation hours are 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily. Starting pay is $8/hour.
     

    Summer Activities Instructor
    The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position. Instructors must be 15 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of either soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball, baseball, arts & crafts, etc. Ability to lead a large group of children, and have a high level of responsibility. Applicants must also be available on a regular basis Mon. & Wed or Tue. & Thur. June 10 – August 2, during the morning and/or evening hours. Starting pay is $8/hour.
     

    Youth Softball & T-Ball Umpire
    The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position. Umpire must be 16 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of softball, and have a high level of responsibility. Applicants must also be available on a regular basis Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday evenings. June 10th – August 15th, Pay is $10/hr.

  • PART TIME COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER

    Person hired will work 40 hours every two weeks.  Flexible days and shifts are available. The primary duties will be to assist uniform officers at crash scenes, direct traffic, enforce parking and other municipal ordinances, patrol City Parks, River Walk, and bicycle trails, and provide other police service functions as necessary.

    Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate or equivalent at time of hire, have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License, a good driving record, be of good moral character, and have demonstrated a dependable work history. We will accept applications from high school seniors graduating this spring. Preference will be given to students in Criminal Justice programs or going into Criminal Justice. Community Service Officers working at the time of an opening for Police Officer may be given preference in the Police Officer hiring process.

    The City of West Bend is accepting applications for a full-time Sewer Operations Specialist.  Experienced Wastewater Operators are encouraged to apply.  Under limited supervision, will be responsible for work of routine difficulty in the operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, collection system and lift stations.  Have the ability to obtain or currently have wastewater certification in the following sub-classes:  A1, A2, B, C, P, D and L within four years.  Two years minimum Wastewater Treatment Plant background required or equivalent experience.  Cityworks, computer and mechanical background desired.  CDL class B/C with endorsement, N tanker and air brakes is required within three months of hire.  Must complete a training program and demonstrate proficiency.  Salary range $21.00 to $24.99 DOQ.  Immediate promotion possible with desired experience and licenses.  A pre-employment drug screening, physical, vision, hearing and spirometry tests are required to be eligible for hire.  Open until filled.
