The 2021 Open Book Review Period is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 4th and conclude on Tuesday, May 11th. We are encouraging property owners to contact us via phone or email. The Board of Review (BOR) will be held on Tuesday, May 18th from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Council Chambers of West Bend City Hall.
After the Open Book Review has concluded, there is an opportunity for property owners to contest their assessment at the BOR by contacting the City Clerk at (262) 335-5103 at least 48 hours prior to the BOR is scheduled to begin.
During a non-revaluation year the Assessor's office accounts for assessment changes due to new construction, land splits, combinations, remodeling, and permit related activity. You can research Detailed Property Assessment Data online.

The Assessor does not: Calculate the taxes, collect the taxes, choose the tax rate, or set policy for the Board of Review. The Assessor is concerned with value, not taxes. The taxes you pay are proportionate to the value of your property compared to the total value of the taxing district in which your property is located.
The mission of the assessor’s office is to list and value all taxable property within the City of West Bend in accordance with Chapter 70 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
The assessor’s office discovers, lists, and values all real and personal property located within the corporate limits of the City of West Bend.
It is our responsibility to provide uniform property values so that the burden of taxes is distributed as fairly and equitably as possible under current law. It is our job to help educate the public about the statutes and perform our work in a courteous, professional manner.
