Federal Tool & Engineering

lgGroundbreaking_2Federal Tool & Engineering purchased the building at 2150 Stonebridge Road in the city's South Industrial Park for the company's second location.  The City of West Bend and Economic Development Washington County (EDWC) presented a joint incentive proposal to support the growth and consolidation of Federal Tool & Engineering in West Bend.  These approved incentives include $200,000 low-interest financing, a $25,000 grant to offset relocation costs, a 7-year, 50% Tax Re-Investment Program (TRIP), and the relocation of municipal utility services from the City of West Bend, and $200,000 low-interest financing from EDWC.  In return, Federal Tool & Engineering will consolidate operations from Cedarburg to West Bend, build a 26,000 square foot addition, and invest at least $2 million in the property.  The company will also relocate 45 jobs and create 8 additional positions in West Bend by 2016.  A groundbreaking was held in September 2014, which was attended by Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.  Founded in 1925, Federal Tool & Engineering is a full service “design to build” metal stamping, fabricating, welding and assembly company, specializing in difficult applications requiring critical tolerance and/or surface finish requirements.

"We are thrilled about our company's anticipated move to West Bend.  City and county officials have been very cooperative and welcoming.  We were drawn to West Bend because of their energetic work force, easy access to Hwy 45, and Moraine Park Technical College's new Jackson Regional Center.  We are confident this is a winning decision for our business."
- David Tomczek, President, Federal Tool & Engineering

Delta Defense/ Delta Ventures

The City of West Bend welcomes Delta Defense headquarters as the company relocates from Jackson to West Bend, Wisconsin.  The City of West Bend and Economic Development Washington County (EDWC) have approved financial incentives to support the expansion of Delta Defense in space vacated by the Museum of Wisconsin Art in downtown West Bend.  Delta Defense was founded in 2003 and began publishing a self-defense magazine that focused on responsible firearms ownership. This magazine grew into a national association providing information, community training and liability insurance to its members. Delta Defense has over 60,000 active association members and 600,000 newsletter subscribers. Delta has grown an average of 50% per year since 2003 and was named to the 2012 and 2013, Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing companies.  To ensure the company not just remains, but grows in Washington County, the City of West Bend and EDWC put together a joint proposal for Delta Defense. The proposal includes $100,000 in low interest financing to be provided through the county and the city to provide $167,000 of low interest financing and a 50%, 5-year Tax Re-Investment Program (TRIP) incentive.  In return, the company will relocate to West Bend bringing 28 current employees, create 9 additional jobs, and invest $1.1 million in the property within the next 3 years.

“When Delta Ventures began searching for a building, they ultimately selected West Bend for an abundance of reasons.  We quickly found their economic development staff to be a valuable strategic partner that would be creative and aggressive in its efforts to attract and support a growing business in the municipality.  They have a no nonsense approach whose goal is simply to support and grow existing businesses to create jobs.  This was the case for Delta Ventures.”
- Brian S. Parrish, Vice President & Partner, the Dickman Company, Inc. / CORFAC Intl.; real estate broker for Delta Defense/Delta Ventures
