Public Works Technician I


The City of West Bend is accepting applications for a  Public Works Technician I who must be able to deal courteously with the public, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, have physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, work flexible hours, and available to work overtime as dictated.  Positive communications skills, team and goal orientated, and possess a willingness to accept job assignments needed.

Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and/or the ability to obtain a Class B CDL (Class A preferred) and a good driving record. 

Mechanical, Concrete, Asphalt, Snow plowing, and Storm Sewer experience desirable.  Welding and fabricating experience a plus.  Must be available for snow plowing 24 hrs. a day when required. Candidates will need to pass a background check, physical and drug screening.

The City of West Bend offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including health and life insurance.  Starting salary will be $21.00/hr.

Parks and Recreation – Responsibilities will include Equipment Maintenance, Field Preparation, General Grounds Maintenance, Tree, Shrub, and Landscape Bed Maintenance, Playground Maintenance and any other responsibilities as assigned.

Firefighter

Applications are being accepted to establish a Firefighter eligibility list. At time of application, applicant must be 18 years of age and be a certified WI Firefighter I. At time of hire must possess a WI EMT - Paramedic license. Applicant must have Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certificate and possess a valid WI driver’s license, prior to the Police & Fire Commission interview. Spring Positions
Youth Baseball Instructor

 Instructors must be 15 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of baseball, ability to lead large groups of children, and have a high level of responsibility.  Applicants must also be available on Thursdays from 5:15pm to 7pm April 16 – May 14. Starting pay is $8.25/hour.

 Youth Soccer Instructor

 Instructors must be 15 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of soccer, ability to lead large groups of children, and have a high level of responsibility.  Applicants must also be available on Wednesdays from 5:15pm to 7pm April 15 – May 13. Starting pay is $8.25/hour.

 Archery Instructors

 The City of West Bend Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for this position.  Instructors must be at least 16 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of archery, ability to lead groups of children, and have a high level of responsibility.  Applicants must also be available on Saturdays from 8:30am – 11am April 18 – May 16. Pay is based on experience. 


Summer Positions
Regner Park Beach Lifeguard

 Lifeguards are hired to work at the City’s Regner Park Beach. Applicants must be 16 years old or older by June 5th 2020. Current Lifeguard Certification including CPR/AED/First Aid is required. Applicants may still apply contingent on the ability to become lifeguard certified. Applicants must be available on a regular basis June 5 – August 16, including evenings and weekends. Beach operation hours are 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily. Starting pay is based on experience.

 Regner Park Beach House Attendant

 Beach House Attendants are hired to work at the City’s Regner Park Beach.  Applicants must be 15 years old or older and possess proficient knowledge and skills of money handling, customer service, and have a high level of responsibility.  Applicants must also be available on a regular basis June 5 – August 16, including evenings and weekends. Beach operation hours are 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily. Starting pay is $8.50/hour.

 Summer Activities Instructor

 Instructors must be 15 years old or older, possess a good working knowledge of either soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball, baseball, arts & crafts, etc. Ability to lead a large group of children, and have a high level of responsibility. Applicants must also be available on a regular basis Mon. & Wed or Tue. & Thur. June 8 – July 31st, during the morning and/or evening hours. Starting pay is $8.25/hour.

Parks, Recreation, and Forestry APPLICATION

PART TIME COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER
Person hired will work 40 hours every two weeks. Flexible days and shifts are available. The primary duties will be to assist uniform officers at crash scenes, direct traffic, enforce parking and other municipal ordinances, patrol city parks, river walk, and bicycle trails, and provide other police service functions as necessary.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate or equivalent at time of hire, have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License, a good driving record, be of good moral character, and have demonstrated a dependable work history. We will accept applications from high school seniors graduating this spring. Preference will be given to students in Criminal Justice programs or going into Criminal Justice. Community service officers working at the time of an opening for police officer may be given preference in the police officer hiring process.
