Spring Reminders from the Public Works Department

West Bend, Wis. (March 30, 2021): The City of West Bend Drop-off Yard and Public Works Office will be closed on Friday, April 2. The Drop-off Yard will reopen on Saturday, April 3, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Garbage and recycling collection will take place without disruption on regularly scheduled collection days.

City of West Bend residents and residential property owners are required to have a permit sticker attached to their vehicle when dropping off items at the Drop-Off Yard located at 251 Municipal Drive. Permit stickers may be purchased upon arrival for $25 and are valid from January 1 through December 31, 2021.  At the time of purchase, two items are required: current vehicle registration for each vehicle being registered and valid driver’s license.

The Drop-off Yard and Public Works Office will be open on Saturdays, April 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the convenience of purchasing yard stickers and refuse carts.

Brush Collection: Curbside brush collection begins the week of April 12-15, 2021, and continues twice per month through October. Brush is collected with a separate truck on the same day as garbage collection. Brush should be placed on the terrace with branches no longer than 4 feet and no wider than 6 inches in diameter. Properties are limited to one brush pile within the dimensions of 4’ x 4’ x 4’ per collection day. 

Organic Waste: City of West Bend residents are reminded that all leaves, lawn rakings, and grass clippings should be bagged and delivered to the Organic Drop-off located at 251 Municipal Drive. These items are not to be placed curbside or into the gutter. By City Ordinance, organic waste cannot be collected with regular garbage.
