Light Up the New Carl M. Kuss Memorial Field

West Bend, Wis. (June 30, 2021): The City of West Bend and West Bend Baseball Association (WBBA) is well underway with upgrades to Carl M. Kuss Memorial Field at Regner Park. The current project consists of a new multi-purpose artificial turf infield with a moveable pitching mound, grandstand and press box, fencing and sports team dugouts. Now it’s time to light the field.

Through fundraising efforts, more than $1.55M is secured to complete the initial phase of the project. WBBA looks to raise $200,000 to purchase and install new lights.

“We are incredibly close to reaching our fundraising goal,” said Craig Larsen, WBBA Secretary. “Our major donors have hit it out of the park so far and we look to the community to help hit us home!”

The Kuss Field reconstruction project is the result of a collaborative public-private partnership between the West Bend School District, West Bend Baseball Association and the City of West Bend. It is anticipated that the new field and stadium will be ready for the 2022 spring sport seasons.

“This new facility will honor West Bend’s baseball traditions while also expanding opportunities for softball, soccer, and lacrosse for both girls and boys,” said Jennifer Wimmer, Superintendent of the West Bend School District. “The state-of-the-art complex will serve youth and adult athletes of all types for generations to come.”

“Kuss Field is an integral part of West Bend’s history and future,” said Kevin Steiner, President and CEO of West Bend Mutual Insurance Company. “We’re proud to support this project and can’t wait to see it lit again!”
