City of West Bend to Clean and Reopen Park Playgrounds

West Bend, Wis. (May 18, 2020): In accordance with the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department’s Blueprint for Reopening Washington and Ozaukee Counties, the City of West Bend Parks Division is actively cleaning and preparing all of its 22 playground facilities for reopening ahead of the Memorial Day holiday weekend. After each playground is cleaned, signage will be removed and visitors are welcome to utilize the equipment.

“We wanted to take the time to thoroughly clean each playground before reopening,” said Mike Jentsch, Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director. “We care about the health, safety, and happiness of all of our residents—especially children.”

The Blueprint for Reopening Washington and Ozaukee Counties suggests patrons:

  • Practice physical distancing as best as possible. In spaces where physical distancing is difficult, attendees should wear cloth face masks.
  • Wash hands or use hand sanitizer after playground use.

The Parks Division will continue to periodically clean throughout the warm-weather seasons. Visit the City of West Bend website to view a full list of West Bend park locations.
