Common Council Appoints Randall Koehler to Serve as District 4 Alderman

West Bend, Wis. (May 19, 2020): At a special Common Council Meeting on Monday, May 18, 2020, the Council interviewed four candidates for the vacant District 4 Alderman position. In a majority vote, the Council appointed Randall Koehler as District 4 Alderman. He was immediately sworn in and took part in the meeting.

Koehler will complete the remainder of the two-year term expiring in April 2021. The position became open when Mayor Christophe E. Jenkins was elected into office, transition from the aldermanic position.

“Thanks to each of the candidates for stepping up to serve the City of West Bend,” said Mayor Jenkins. “We are pleased to welcome Randy back to the Common Council and know that his experience will help us move forward.”

Koehler served as District 4 Alderman from 2011-2015. He is an active community citizen. Koehler is the founder of Concerned Citizens of West Bend. He also served on the City of West Bend Board of Appeals, Ethics Committee, and Redevelopment Authority.

“Both my wife and I were born and raised in West Bend and I believe we have a great community,” said Koehler. “I want to assist in continuing to offer amenities and services that attract businesses and people to our area.

“Our greatest assets are our people. We have some excellent employees and programs,” Koehler added. “My past experience as a council member will allow me to seamlessly transition into the role and allow the council to continue on a forward path. I do not wish to change anything we do, but look to improve and enhance where needed.”

The Common Council meets next on Monday, June 1 at 6:25 p.m. at City Hall.
