West Bend Economic Development Corporation Donates $250K to City of West Bend for Riverwalk Project

West Bend, Wis. (October 7, 2020): The West Bend Economic Development Corporation (WBEDC) has committed $250,000 to support construction of the west side of the City of West Bend’s Riverwalk project. This donation comes as part of a broader donation of $400,000 to the community, also supporting the renovation of Carl Kuss Field at Regner Park.

“The WBEDC is pleased to be able to support the Riverwalk project.” said Kirk Emerich, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Westbury Bank and President of WBEDC. “We believe the renovation of the west side will help tie the Riverwalk to the downtown business district and be a catalyst for growth in downtown West Bend.”

“Thank you to West Bend Economic Development Corporation for its support of recreation and redevelopment,” said Mayor Christophe E. Jenkins. “The City of West Bend greatly appreciates this donation and all of the support for this complex project.”

Utility work for the west side of the Riverwalk is set to begin this fall. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in spring of 2021 from the Veterans Avenue Bridge north to Vest Pocket Park Bridge.
